TV & Film The TV Room

I'm sick of Game of Thrones. I've lost interest and I can't be bothered to watch it anymore.

I'm watching The World's Weirdest Weather and this episode is about dust devils.

Really? How comes? I still haven't finished series 2 because of stupid broken laptop but I'm dying to know what happens.

Watched food unwrapped again and was pleasantly surprised that 1/9 lamb kebabs tested were 100% lamb meat. I thought it would be none...

They seemed to sidestep around how many had pork in, but some clearly did even if they didn't say it outright.

I was suprised it was like hobo meat or something. Seriously though...geniunely suprised it was chicken/beef/lamb.

And Oysters...YAK! Joey on friends got it right when he said they looked like giant nose boogers!

Haha yeah. I never thought about why oysters had a reputation for making people sick before (I've never eaten one so it doesn't really matter) but it seems mad that so much effort it made to stop them from carrying viruses... if a food is carrying a virus, I think "maybe I'll eat something else" not "how can I elaborately purify this so that is probably wont make me ill...".

I was interested in the apples last week too, how they store them in a nitrogen atmosphere so that they don't go off for months, and then put them in the supermarket with a "eat in 10 days" label. Still, it means you can eat British grown apples all year round. I wonder how much nutritional value is depleted?

Woohoo, finally have a way to watch all my programmes. Have begun the process of catching up with Game Of Thrones! :D

Can't wait for True Blood.

Sorry, read this on my phone and meant to reply as soon as I got to a keyboard...and promptly forgot. :p

So how far are you now? I really think it's such a cleverly written show, part sci-fi without being hit-you-over-the-head sciencey (or excessively made up science); part crime drama without being boring and formulaic like most crime dramas.

Spoilered because these are questions I have after watching the season finale, so I might give away a few things.
WHO IS MRS S? And now that I think about it, it is kinda funny that when they went underground, they ended up in a city with at least 2 (3?) other clones, and a neolution owned office building/possible headquarters. That seems like quite the coincidence. I really don't want her to be a bad guy. :( Where's Kiera? Did Mrs S take her, and why?

Can we trust Delphine? I really want to believe she's on the side of the clones, but really, who knows. I really really hope they don't kill off Cosima, I really like her.

And Alison, holy ****. And Donny really was her watcher the whole time! Is he going to continue to monitor her now that she's signed the contract? I really think that the contract means zilch, and they will have to continue fighting the neolutionists for autonomy. What do we think about them being patented?

Gone for a long weekend myself so I haven't been around to respond... but we just finished the first season last night.

The patented thing kinda through me for a loop, how the heck does one patent something supposedly illegal, still trying to wrap my head around that one... someone has some explaining to do. As far as Delphine... I'm not sure we can trust any of them, her and Paul included. I do think Mrs S took Kiera, I think she left the reservation long ago to protect Sarah and is doing the same for Kiera... but who really knows. Yeah, Alison kinda went off the deep end, lol.

I only seem to watch documentaries and news programmes on British TV. Tonight I'm taping Horizon: The Secret Life of the Cat BBC Two - Horizon, 2012-2013, The Secret Life of the Cat and Confessions of an Alien Abductee (Channel 4) tonight.:) Right after the alien programme there is a programme about Ann Summers and designing sex toys for women if anyone is interested.;)

I dont want to watch the cat programme. Im scared about what they might capture a kitty doing...

BUT I will be watching For the Love of Dogs on ITV (8.30pm) Its amazing. Paul oGrady presents it, he has a lot of animals and is vegan so when he cries over the sad stories you know its because he genuinely is an animal lover.

I didn't think the cat programme would be up your street. :D I didn't know he was vegan although he is on the Battersea website as an ambassador for them.:) I read about that show on a dog forum but I never watch ITV for some reason. ETA - oh I just realised it is about dogs from Battersea, duh.

Hehe. yeah its amazing...there are some really sad stories. I cry every week! But Paul gets so angry and upset its like hes forgotten hes on TV, very genuine tears and emotions.

Paul Ogrady is vegan? This makes me SO HAPPY! He would always talk about his love of animals & I always wondered why he wasn't vegetarian.

:)
