I decided to check out Under the Dome last night. I bailed after 15 minutes.

I thought going in that the premise was really ridiculous, but I've seen TV shows before with a ridiculous premise and somehow the actors and writers managed to pull off a watchable show. Not this time. It still seemed really stupid. And also really boring. There was nothing to hook me. I had trouble staying awake, so I decided to call it a day and go to bed.

So who else is going to watch the annual 4th of July Twilight Zone Marathon on SciFi/Syfy/TsaiFai?

Under the Dome is a science fiction novel by Stephen King, published in November 2009. It is a partial rewrite of a novel King attempted to write twice in the late 1970s and early 1980s, under the titles The Cannibals and Under the Dome. As King stated on his official site, these two unfinished works "were two very different attempts to utilize the same idea, which concerns itself with how people behave when they are cut off from the society they've always belonged to. Also, my memory of The Cannibals is that it, like Needful Things, was a kind of social comedy. The new Under the Dome is played dead straight."[1] From the material originally written, only the first chapter is included in the new novel

I watched the two programmes last night from The Cost of Living season on BBC One. The first programme used celebrity chefs to show how to cook healthy meals on a very limited budget and showed how some British people are having to rely on foodbanks to make ends meet. I thought it was interesting but unsurprisingly I have seen a lot of negative comments online about the benefit claimants.

I sometimes watch golf because it reminds me of my dad. One of the last fun things he was able to do was watch the Masters tournament on tv with me.

I sometimes watch golf because it reminds me of my dad. One of the last fun things he was able to do was watch the Masters tournament on tv with me.

My dad loves golfing and watching golf... I think I'd rather have a root canal (never actually had one) than do either, lol. I sometimes watch poker tournaments on TV so I don't have too much room to criticize.

All kinds of targets, regular bulls-eye, golf tees, gum drops, bowling pins, axe heads, bottles... they seem to have a fondness for exploding targets though.

I watched Project Runway religiously when it was on Bravo, but I lost interest when it moved the Lifetime network. I despise fashion, but omg the drama on that show! It was so hard to turn away! It was so entertaining. Heidi's voice drove me nuts though. She sounds like she's been sucking on helium balloons.

My father would've loved Top Shot. He was an avid gun collector (who thankfully never hunted).

The new trailer for Season 4 of the Walking Dead is now on www.amctv.com. It looks intense! I can't wait for October.
