The Good Memories thread

Peasant, I’ve been thinking about you (a bit more than I usually do) during this time of holidays.

You had a wonderful disposition, but it annoyed you when either of my sisters were crying about something: you would often go over to them and nip them. I remember one time my sister and I were teasing you. I was pretending to bother her and she was pretending to cry. But you understood that I was the one causing the problem- and nipped me! I swear you had an expression on your face that said "please don't do this". We stopped immediately, but I didn’t think much about it at the time. I did love you back then, and I think I always have (even though I didn't think about you much from the time of your death through the 70s to the mid-90s), but it should have impressed me that you were acting as the peacemaker.

I wish you eternal happiness (and wish the same for Fluffy/Ambrose, Jackie and her brood, Freddy, Frieda, Tomkit, Crystal, Grasshopper, Patches... Oh, for EVERYBODY)!

I've been thinking about my two orange boys, Thor and Bogart. Thor died April 12, 2012 by June I was still crying over him. That's when I found Bogart/Bogey. Thor was my soulcat but Bogart helped fill the void that felt as big as the Grand Canyon.

We just donated our cat carrier to the local vet as I'm sure I won't have any more cats while I live on such a busy road. I would like to have cats or kittens again, but I will just buy another cat carrier then.

I still have my carriers, even though I haven't had any cats or rabbits since 2011, because I plan to do some fostering and a carrier is essential for bringing my animals to the vet.

@Raven I notice you're in the U.K., and I've come to understand that cats are customarily allowed outside there. I admit it makes sense in a way: cats (at least a subspecies of Felis sylvestris closely related to the domestic cat) are native to Europe. But in the U.S., I routinely see dead cats in the road- most often killed by cars.
