I had a Tesco delivery, last week, and in it there was a Knorrs Chicken Gravy pot free sample thing.

I wasn't sure if it had been a mistake, and fallen into my order from someone else's, but no, after an email, and a telephone call back from them, it appears that Tesco are giving people free samples of this stuff..

Bit sill really. I suppose I shall have to try giving it away.

Ew. Did they not offer some sort of sub for it?
How rude of them to assume people want chicken flavour all over everything.

I used to get free samples of stuff all the time from Sainbury's I think. I used to give the non-vegan stuff to friends or family. Sometimes it was nice things like herbal tea.

After the email/phone call I meant.
no.

I just wanted to let them know that some people wouldn't be able to use it, and it would just create inconvenience...don't know if they give a fig.

Here is the sample, with a weird looking man on the free sample label.knorrs 001.jpg

I've had free samples of that stuff before... I just give it away. There should be a way of indicating that you don't want non-veggie free samples or something...

I wouldn't think so as it would just add to the workload. Most people are pleased to receive samples and if they
don't like them, they can either bin them or give them away.

I've had other companies allow for people to say they are vegetarian/vegan for this purpose. Also, Tesco's club card allow you to tell them you are vegetarian for the purpose of coupons, so why not extend that to the samples if it's information they already have?

I guess that I'm not used to being asked if I'm a vegetarian overhere. Lucky you !

I hope they won't keep doing it....It would be a rare free sample that was meat, egg, and dairy free.

If I had to throw it away, I suppose I could keep it until it was passed its use by date, but I don't really want a load of this stuff hanging around my kitchen.

That's a good idea mlp, I have a growing pile of things that aren't vegan that my fiance doesn't like and I don't know who to give them too.

As for the free samples, I've never got one, it's a shame they don't put it on the receipt because then you could just give it back. Maybe you could hand it back to them next week if you wanted?
