A man clad only in boxer shorts stopped a thief from stealing his car in southern Norway - by clinging on to the roof in a hair-raising ride at -17C.

Police say the owner was left "pretty bloody" after the car crashed into a safety barrier on a bridge. A suspect has been taken into police custody.

I'm glad I don't eat meat, or whatever it might be!

Hundreds of tons of beef that were marketed as organic, Swedish beef, considered a luxury product, but which were in fact mixed with foreign meat. Daniel Selin, the head of the food control department in Stockholm, explains to Radio Sweden what his investigation has turned up: the companies share the same warehouse and one company buys organic Swedish meat, "but they are able to sell twice as much as they have bought," while the other company "is buying European foreign meat, and they can't really explain where they are selling it. It just disappears."

Well, guess it depends on your comparison...

I meant social interaction - too many generations of supressed emotions released by large quantities of alcohol - it's not known as the "hockey belt" for nothing! :drunk:
There is also a weird class system with the very wealthy, royalty and old nobility at the top, then the rich (nouveau or not), politicans and celebrities, then everyone else.
Comparing Detroit with the old town in Stockholm, is a bit like comparing Detroit with the Hamptons. A better way to look at it would be things like water, health care, gun-toting crazies, and going bankrupt!

Today the Norwegian Church said yest to marry same sex couples. :) The vicar can still say no, due to his or her own faith, but there are plenty of vicars that will marry same sex couples, so it will probably only cause that some couples have to travel a bit. In big cites, there will not be any problems.

Under the pride parade last year, they even had some from the church atteding, even in their vicar clothing. :) We walked right in front of them, and they got so much cheering and attention. :)

Norway's Barnevernet: They took our four children… then the baby - BBC News
The case of a young couple in Norway whose five children were taken away by the state has fuelled mounting concern within the country and abroad over its child protection practices. Protesters around the world - and leading Norwegian professionals - say social workers are often too quick to separate children from their families, with too little justification, particularly when parents are immigrants. ( ... sssh ... *whisper* did someone say the r word? ... )

We always only get one side of those stories. The parents and their closest family. And no one will probably tell the same story as Barnevernet would have if they were allowed to get in the media... So I'm very sceptic to some of the stories there...
