Should cats be kept indoors?

It's never been particularly energetic (unsurprisingly), more like evasive and brooding. I don't think there are many animals which could break that carrier and also fit inside of it though, except maybe large rodenty things that could gnaw through. Seems pretty solid so far.
 
Could be the age as well. Gypsy is just a young cat, she is full of energy. She was 6 months old when she broke the first 2 crates, that was when she was taken for her spaying. She basically ripped them apart. She split a third one in half earlier this year. She is about 18 months old now and has all the energy of youth.
