US seeing cows on a farm hit me with mixed feels

I went to my town's "Pride in the Patch" event, and seeing the farm's sign about raised beef hit me hard. I went over to the cows, they were so beautiful. I pet one through the fence, I saw calves feeding from their mothers, and I want to do so much more for the animals. I'm trying not to be hard on myself, I just regret realizing in adulthood that eating animal products wasn't right. I don't know. Today was a hard day.

Yes, try not to be too hard on yourself. When I was young, I had no perspective on meat, what it was, where it came from, or how it was made. As an adult, I've changed my actions based on new information. So I act differently now. To me that's the important thing. I can't do anything about what I did when I was young or the information I did or didn't have. Forgive yourself and be thankful for where you are now.
