"You certainly might be if, like many unknowing consumers, you think synthetic meat is healthier because it’s called “plant-based.” After all, plants like fruits and veggies are healthy, no?

Fruits and veggies may be healthy, but fake meats are ultra-processed foods. They don’t grow on vines. Their ingredients are mixed together and heated without precedent. They’re not any better for you than real meat, say nutritionists. And some say there is no assurance about their future impact on health."

Hmmm... I suspect the "clean food facts" organization is a shill for the livestock industry.

acrylamide is only dangerous in large quantities.

and acrylamide is found in French Frys and roasted coffee. I suspect that Clean Food Facts is cherry picking. Do they also suggest a waning label on coffee and French fries?

.
Per the National Cancer Institute (cancer.gov):

"The major food sources of acrylamide are French fries and potato chips; crackers, bread, and cookies; breakfast cereals; canned black olives; prune juice; and coffee."

Let's ban bread and prune juice!

The director of consumerfreedom.com is Richard Berman: About Us - Center for Consumer Freedom

In the 1990s, Berman was the president of Beverage Retailers Against Drunk Driving (BRADD), an organization formed to combat Mothers Against Drunk Driving.[13]

Berman also manages the Employment Policies Institute (EPI) is a nonprofit research center opposed to raising the minimum wage, particularly in the labor-intensive restaurant industry. 'TIME Magazine' described EPI's work as helping to "lay the groundwork for the minimum-wage fight in 2014."[1]

Plant-based meat suppliers now include some ag-business giants, like ConAgra and Cargill. These industry giants won't accept this attack against their business.
