After reading In Cold Blood I watched Capote last night. I thought it was quite interesting and I understood they were trying to show how Trueman Capote exploited the situation to write what would be a very famous book. I didn't understand why it seemed sympathetic to the killers!

We started watching a horror film last night called The Void. I think I must have seen it before although I couldn't remember it clearly.

Then I watched a classic film - Copland. :) It is one of my favourites.

Watched "Don't Look Up" last night. Haven't watched it since first being released.
Not so much of a far fetched storyline as many probably believe.
Could easily be mistaken for a behind the scenes documentary!

I recently re-watched "Ford vs. Ferrari", wonderful movie.
I wish I could watch the 1971 Steve McQueen "Le Mans" movie again, I fondly remember having seen that a few times on VHS cassettes some decades ago.

Anyone seen or have their tickets for "Christspiracy"?
Whatever you views or personal opinions, it looks interesting!

My wife and I just watched “Poor Things” on Disney.

Very strange and, in some areas, disturbing movie. Also, rather pornographic, which might not be everybody’s taste.

I watched half the other day,, and .... seems more like a movies just to showcase Emma Stones acting. I'll watch the rest, but not liking it so far.

Poor Things sounded very weird when I read a review. Not my type of thing at all.

We watched Strays last night. It was funny, but also quite sad in places.

I saw Road House is on Sky (the new version) but I haven't even seen the old one. Maybe I might watch both, the old one first.

I started watching the original Road House last night, but stopped as I found it really sexist! We started the new one, but I found it quite dull too.

I finished Poor Things and found it pretty intriguing, and a great premise, but overall seemed the movie tried to deliver more than it did. It spent soooo much time on sex that it didn't leave room for everything else that it touched on, and the sex scenes weren't even erotic.
It did highlight the stereotyping of woman and men, but did so in such a stereotypical way it got diluted.
All in all it I felt too much time was spent on award winning and not nearly enough on story development. Like what was the fisheyed lens for? I surely didn't need to watch Emma Stone perform as much as she did on any part.
Also, the idea that she was a child didn't sit well, but was completely ignored

This film is definitely on my wish list:

ONE LIFE tells the true story of Sir Nicholas ‘Nicky’ Winton, a young London broker who, in the months leading up to World War II, rescued 669 predominantly Jewish children from the Nazis. Nicky visited Prague in December 1938 and found families who had fled the rise of the Nazis in Germany and Austria, living in desperate conditions with little or no shelter and food, and under threat of Nazi invasion. He immediately realised it was a race against time. How many children could he and the team rescue before the borders closed?

Fifty years later, it’s 1988 and Nicky lives haunted by the fate of the children he wasn’t able to bring to safety in England; always blaming himself for not doing more. It’s not until a live BBC television show, ‘That’s Life’, surprises him by introducing him to some surviving children – now adults – that he finally begins to come to terms with the guilt and grief he had carried for five decades.

I don't really remember the first one. We watched the new one last night and other than the horrid fight scenes (oh wait, that was most of it) I kinda enjoyed it. There was humour and so that was good and the bad guys received their come uppance so that was good.

I only watched the first maybe 15 minutes of the old film, but there was a bizarre scene with men squeezing a woman's breasts in a bar! Totally creepy and uncomfortable viewing.

I might watch the new Road House at some point to see if it got better

We are probably going to see the new Godzilla film next week. 🤩
