Killing insects

This may sound stupid, but I'm not trolling.

I'm going to keep killing mosquitos and cockroaches whenever they invade my house. While these creatures may be sentient, I doubt they feel pain.

I don't see pain being necessary in deciding whether we take a life or not.
People go through a lot in order to have safe housing and there are insects that can truly destroy our structures and our health and well being. The real key is prevention. I have experienced bed bugs. I called an exterminator immediately after doing some research, and he only had to treat my bedroom. Had I waited there would have been many many more killed, possibly needing more than one treatment. I discovered them on the third day after itching so bad it felt down to my bones. (I had laid a blouse on my bed that I purchased at a garage sale. I knew used things should be washed and dried on hot asap, but I didn't think)
Wasps can be detered by fake nests, there are plants that deter many bugs. You can't be 100%, but can take the best protections
