Impossible Foods raises $108M for plant-based burgers

Impossible Foods, a four-year-old, Redwood City, Ca.-based company at work on a new generation of meats and cheeses made entirely from plants, has raised $108 million in new funding from a powerful group of backers.

Anyone here tried this cheese burger they mention? It's also in the picture in the article.

I've never heard of this company. TBH, there are so many meat and cheese replacements on the market nowadays that it's hard to keep them all straight , not to mention who makes them.

I can haz vegan cheezburger? Evidently, the answer to that question is now "Yes". The one in the picture looked almost disturbingly convincing.

Nope, I haven't heard of those, either.

OK, Kite Hill is a company producing (supposedly, have not tried it myself) very nice artisan vegan cheese made in the same way that dairy cheese is made, but from plant-based ingredients. Should be available at Whole Foods, at rather substantial prices, I am afraid.

Tal Ronnen is a celebrity vegan chef (claiming to be LA's best vegan chef) who is the driving force behind Kite Hill and other ventures.
