I am starting chemotherapy in 2-3 weeks. Got lots of advice on how O.H and I can look after each other with safety precautions but I don't know how to protect my cats from the effects of being around me and how to know if they are being affected. They are strictly indoor cats and I am home all day, Any advice on how to keep them safe would be appreciated.

Sorry you are having to start chemotherapy. I only just recently learned that there are precautions you have to take with family members, and never considered there could be implications with pets too. Hence, I have no advice and would have to google for myself...and maybe consult my veterinarian to see if they had anything to offer.

Keep trash and body waste out of their reach.

Maintain good hygiene, wash hands often.
Casual contact appears to be fine. The general consensus is, there is no real threat to pets.
