I like them fine, but may try something different when they eventually wear out. I like bluetooth, so as not to be tied to my phone with a cord. Over-the-ear types are very uncomfortable on me, as I wear glasses, and end up with a headache from too much pressure behind my ears.
It's all about the little things. Even a bad set of headphones can sound nice with an amp, and your songs in the proper format (lossless, and from a CD not downloaded, get a converter!). Also better sound comes out of the bottom dock part of your ipod, so a line from that to the amp is best.
Dock->Amp->Headphones all in lossless. Great sound!
Also to answer the fogotten question in the original post of what to steer clear of, any Beats by Dre! They sound ok because they have a built in amp, but the value (price to quality in this case) is terrible. Apple earbuds with the amp I linked would probably sound better for 1/3 the price.
I bought them initially because I like my cable to have fabric over it, so I dont break it. But the sound is sooo good and accurate. Plus theyre quite cheap. Woo.
I use senheiser. I have a pair of their cheaper in-ear ones for everyday travel (to work etc), and a more expensive pair of over-the-head ones for use at the computer and on long journeys. Affordable and really good quality sound.
