I had an 11-year old patient once who was playing outside, and her golden retriever knocked her down and took 3 bites from a huge eastern diamondback rattler.
It bit the girl in the foot once, but most of the venom went to the dog. Both were treated successfully with antivenin and recovered fully. We let the dog visit the girl because hero.
