Good news. Over here if you foster a pet you get the food and medical care paid for by the organisation.

I didn't know that, I always thought fostering a pet would be a nice thing to do, but I wonder how often they actually get adopted? I have seen a lot of rabbits in particular sitting around on adoption websites for a long time which are in foster homes.

One of my dogs was in foster before we got him and I think some rescues prefer to do that if they can as the dog is more relaxed in a home environment and they can see if they have any issues. I would love to foster if I had more space in my house.

I don't think I could ever foster. It would be too hard to give them back. I admire people that do it, but I imagine it's difficult for them not to get attached.

^^ I said the same thing to the woman who was fostering Gizmo but she said that if she kept the dogs she fostered then she wouldn't be able to help other dogs find homes.
