TV & Film Doctor Who (Spoilers!)

I've never understood why folks dug the Weeping Angels in the first place. An interesting idea, but never really worked for me.

Matt Smith is a damn fine Doctor, though. Most of the issues people have with the last few seasons are more story or companion related.

I prefer Matt Smith.

Aaand now I probably need to duck and cover...

I love love LOVE Sherlock, though. So he must just be really bad at science fiction.

Sherlock is amazing! No strong female characters, though. And the 90-minute episodes can fit more story in. Plus, it's on after the watershed so the stories don't have to be jammed into a "family-friendly" format. (Though some DW episodes have really pushed the line, IMO, in terms of violence.)

I must be the only guy in the universe that prefers 9 to any of the others. Eccleston brought a sort of nihilism and bastardry to the character that I really liked. I have to join with some of the others and say I didn't like Tennant at all. He was too much 'Oh Em Gee, Sad Emo' for me. While he was getting in touch with his feelings toward his companion, I wanted to get in touch with my vomit bucket

"Family Friendly" my ***. :P Doctor Who is the most disturbing show I've ever watched. It puts you through these crazy emotional sequences often covering huge amounts of time in what are often terribly sad, melancholy, and epic episodes.

That's probably what I like about it.

I thought 9 was okay. I like 10 best, but Eccleston was okay. Not the worst. I don't really like 11.

I like Tennant as an actor. His portrayal of 'Hamlet' with Patrick Stewart was sublime. I simply didn't like his Doctor at all. Those seasons are the hardest for me to watch. Although, I've been having difficulty after Eccleston left keeping interest in the show. I was an old Tom Baker Whovian and I guess Baker will always be 'my doctor'.

Maybe so, but it still broke my heart when he was telling Martha about Gallifrey.

Also, is it just me or is the show sometimes stupidly complex? Though everything is dumbed down pretty good in terms of science, I find myself reading every wiki page and still wondering how exactly the Time War worked.
