Beyond Meat’s first-ever TV commercial just aired!

Vegan plant BASED CRUELTY DEATH FREE BURGERS. PLANT MEAT. NO CHOLESTEROL so heart healthy, no CANCER risk NO PANDEMIC VIRUS RISK. Takes 1000's less land and water resources to produce no more deforestation to grow soy for farm animal feed. No greenhouse gas production to change the climate...

Wish i had bought stock with any money in BEHOND MEAT hey they are doing well unlike many other shares and stocks due to pandemic economic meltdowns....

Now...there are those who support or are agains the "IMPOSSIBLE BURGER" as it was tested on some animals in development stages and is not cooked of course in vegan plant oils but in the same oils as cooked animal burgers sold.

Is the "Impossible Burger" made by "Behond MEAT" ? i am not sure.

Anyway...the other day in the UK...driving in some not God forsaken place in inner WALES a place called PENMACHNO near Bettwys Coed...who the English subdued and beat into submission centuries ago like the Native Americans were of course by the British French and any other European wanting to "grab land " and be "immigrants" against the wishes of the natives...

I found some BEHOND MEAT BURGERS so cooked them...3 MINUTES only cooking time needed...impressive that i thought...and my only friends in the world maybe and I ate them and found them delicious actually. Well tasty enough to eat is my verdict...i personally was simply "not put off" and being hungry found them paletable is the truth. There was a VAGUE texture to remind one of animal flesh meat maybe....a vague taste also ? well it was bland ...that is what i recall as the taste of flesh meat eaten in the past...bland...needing spices to make tasty. Needing a load of veggies to make tasty.

Anyway...we added strong tasting ONIONS and TOMATOS to these "Behond Meat" burgers we ate ...so actually the taste was drowned by those strong taste addition lol !

WHAT IS THE IMPOSSIBLE BURGER MADE OF?
Look at the packaging on a Beyond Burger or an Impossible Burger and you'll find a sprawling list of ingredients.

Impossible Burger contains:
Water, Soy Protein Concentrate, Coconut Oil, Sunflower Oil, Natural Flavors, 2% or less of: Potato Protein, Methylcellulose, Yeast Extract, Cultured Dextrose, Food Starch Modified, Soy Leghemoglobin, Salt, Soy Protein Isolate, Mixed Tocopherols (Vitamin E), Zinc Gluconate, Thiamine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B1), Sodium Ascorbate (Vitamin C), Niacin, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6), Riboflavin (Vitamin B2), Vitamin B12.
Other than water, the main ingredient is soy protein concentrate. In and of themselves, soybeans are perfectly healthy, but soy protein concentrate is

heavily processed, which means many of the benefits of the raw food are lost.
For example, raw soybeans provide a great deal of calcium, vitamin C, vitamin B-6, iron and magnesium, but Impossible Foods fortifies its burgers with vitamins and minerals, likely to make up for the lost nutrients during processing.

Beyond Burger has a long list of ingredients. It contains:
Water, Pea Protein Isolate, Expeller-Pressed Canola Oil, Refined Coconut Oil, Contains 2% or less of the following: Cellulose from Bamboo, Methylcellulose, Potato Starch, Natural Flavor, Maltodextrin, Yeast Extract, Salt, Sunflower Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Dried Yeast, Gum Arabic, Citrus Extract (to protect quality), Ascorbic Acid (to maintain color), Beet Juice Extract (for color), Acetic Acid, Succinic Acid, Modified Food Starch, Annatto (for color).

McDonald's here (Canada) has Beyond Meat burgers (PLT), they have a space set aside for cooking on their grill press. Very good. I have bought the burgers and ground in the stores, the ground has much more beef like chew. A healthier choice would be to go where they make a veggie burger from chickpeas, lentils or beans and veg like beetroot and carrot.

I love them, and I've got some members in my family on board. My mom absolutely loves them. She doesn't eat red meat anymore for health reasons, and she is thrilled to have this alternative.

My favorite are the vegan burgers made by Gardein. Less fat than Impossible Burgers. However, Impossible Burgers have better marketing and distribution, and if I am out and they are offered in a restaurant, I do eat them on occasion. At home when we make Gardein burgers we add romaine, sliced tomatoes, and my husband likes red onion slices. I have not eaten a meat burger in over 25 years so I can't tell the difference anymore.

I still go to Burger King on Wednesdays where/when impossible whoppers are $4.

At home I mostly buy Boca Burgers cause one of theirs is vegan and it's usually the cheapest of the bunch. but when they are on sale I'' buy any of them - at least to try.
Beyond and Gardein are both pretty good. I don't really like Dr. Prager's - but I think they are the healthiest. And once you put on All the condiments - they are all good. :)

I like the Beyond, Impossible and Gardein burgers. I can't decide which I like the best. I agree on Dr. Praeger's; they are not like burgers at all and the flavors can be a bit strange.

I rarely buy the meat like burgers. After 40+ years vegan, I just don't have the taste for them. Too greasy.

I like the black bean burgers, Dr Praeger, and my all-time favorite: Bubba's Veggie burger (which I am unable to get locally)

I have liked Meati mushroom products, but usually can't afford them. $11 for 7.35 oz. mushroom steak. My local store had a big a sale on them with $4 off, so I stocked up. Unfortunately, I think that means discontinued.

Went to the Drive Thru window at Burger King to get my (Impossible) Whopper Wednesday.
My BK has just been renovated - I haven't been inside yet but the drive thru is now operated by a robot or something. It speaks English And Spanish.

Whopper Wednesday is only available as an online order. So when you pull up to the place to make you order all you have to say is "Online Order For Lou". Sometimes I get a "What?!" like maybe they have never had an online order before.
This time after a short pause the robot replied, "pull up to the window".
When I got to the window a real person asked me who I was and got my order. (I wonder if they are just double checking).
it seemed to me that the line moved quicker than usual.

the parking lot now has Tesla Charging stations. Welcome to the future!

one of the stores I shop at is called No Frills and they sell local mushrooms in very large containers for $5 - when I was there on the weekend they had very large portabellos in some of the containers and I regret not buying a package, for $5, because there were at least 7 or 8 six inch in each and they would have made awesome burgers - if I see them again I will definitely buy them

The non-meat options at restaurants these days have become voluminous. Now I can easily eat non-meat when my family gatherings bring me to very "traditional" eating establishments. Some "burger joints" exist locally that have fabulous fake burgers and claim that their entire menu is 100% plant-based. The "fake meat" industry has made incredible strides. Even the Cheesecake Factory, of all places, has a great Impossible Burger. The last time I found myself in downtown Chicago that provided a fantastic non-meat relief. For some reason, I no longer eat veggie burgers much at home. Maybe I could never figure out that "4 patties to a box" and "6 buns to a pack" calculus? :D

In any case, with all of this tasty innovation, there really isn't a good reason to eat real burgers anymore, especially if one claims to do so "for the taste." The benefits have become too obvious. For example, I'm still telling the story of how my doctor looked shocked at my last checkup when he looked at my very low cholesterol level. I'm at the same level without any medication that people in my family are at with medication. The doctor may have done an actual double-take, but I might be embellishing that for dramatic effect, as well. I'm human.

I agree, I like more natural and am trying to steer away from processed food but I must admit now and again they are very nice

I just got around to trying the new avocado oil Beyond burger. I was really surprised. Almost no oil, but still moist.

Much better. Big improvement.
I just had an old version of Beyond--I've had a pack of ten in the freezer since I found them on sale--quite a while ago!
I'm afraid to try the avocado version as avocados make me really sick :hurl:.
I don't care much about the burgers, but p'ssd the Italian sausage is also with avo oil, I love those :pout:

do they still have the awful chemical smell?

It appears they have put in a lot of research and co-ordination with dieticians etc.
