I wasn't surprised by any of them. I really dislike the opening paragraph suggesting that if you can't live completely animal-product free, there's no point in reducing your animal consumption at all.

That was really interesting to read thanks! I thought when reading some of them, like shampoo and conditioner, this really isn't difficult to find vegan versions of. Certainly in the UK there are several very mainstream vegan brands of shampoo, including a major high street drugstore.
A while back I compiled my own list of companies that don't test on animals and who's products are available where I live, it took me AGES and I was all pleased with myself as I got all my family switched over to using Tesco own brand shampoo, shower gel etc. only to discover than NONE of their products I was using were vegetarian.
