My best memories are definitely on the list ; visiting cousins, paddling in the sea (English Channel ), ice cream from the ice cream van, hopscotch, reading comics and climbing trees.

Pick 'n' mix even though I remember sweet shops and the huge jars were sweets were weighed and served in paper bags.

I still recall the Ashford's Sainsbury's branch back in the late 50's were there were marble counters, scales and cheese was sliced in front of the customer.

April 1 always makes me think of my dad. We used to put salt in the sugar bowl and he always fell for it (or so he made us believe). He would proceed to take that first sip of coffee and then spit it out, making us so proud and happy that we "got him". <3
