2 1/2 years of veganism broken...

IMy daughter ordered an Impossible burger and ate most of it before she realized it was meat.
They are not "meat".

They are
  • Plant Proteins: It uses soy protein concentrate and potato protein to give it structure and a meaty texture.
  • Fats: It uses coconut oil and sunflower oil to mimic the juiciness of animal fat.
  • Heme: It uses soy leghemoglobin (an iron-containing molecule produced via yeast fermentation) to give the burger its red color and bleeding effect when cooked.

I took it mean they gave her a meat burger instead.
When I ordered at BK I had a long wait, and opened the bag to check. I didn't see Impossible on the box/wrapper, lifted the bun and it was clear a meat burger. I've had Impossible before though
Over the years I've had meat by mistake and what i don't understand why I don't hear this from others. I've had bit of pork in an egg roll, chicken in a Subway and chicken in a Trader Joes sample. In each one I had bile immediately come up my throat and since I expected them all to be veg all I could think was I got something very spoiled

No, she ordered an Impossible Burger and they brought her a cow meat burger. She ate most of it before she realized that it wasn't a plant protein burger. That is why I referred to it as " meat".

Uhh, I had situations of accidently eating meat but in dreams :D saw them few times.. eating something like a soup then realizing there were meat balls or something. Shocking feeling. But in reality I tend to avoid eating in public places, I prefer to buy in shops so I know what I get. Can't really rely on food spots where 'common' food prevails.
