By diet control, do you mean weight loss?

I suppose you can typically eat a bigger volume of vegetarian food for the same amount of calories as you'd get with a smaller volume of non-vegetarian food. So it should be easier to lose weight for a non-vegetarian who goes on a vegetarian diet.

There is no one magic food ("super food"), but obviously vegetarian and especially vegan foods typically have less harmful substances in them.

A vegan diet based around whole foods (which are rich in fibre) seems to be the best option. (If you go vegan and exclude dairy and eggs, don't forget to supplement with B12 vitamin, since this essential vitamin is not found in significant amounts in plant foods unless they have been specifically fortified with it.) Legumes (e.g. beans, lentils, chickpeas, peas, peanuts) should be a staple in this diet, as well as whole wheat pasta and brown rice. Plant milks fortified with calcium and vitamins like D and B12 might be a good idea as well. Also, dark green leafy vegetables are considered particularly healthful.

for me one followed the other. Once I stopped eating the things that made me put on weight my weight went down and my health improved.

When I cut 'naughty ' foods and processed foods from my diet I needed to stock up on 'good foods' to fill the gap!

The addition of copious portions of greenery and the loss of red meat and salt/sugar heavy instant food led to me losing weight.

What it also did was to lower my blood pressure which had been dangerously high and stop completely my historic problems with back to back colds and viruses. My circulation improved and although I do suffer it occasionally it more or less cured my IBS.
