Literature What are you currently reading?

Future sounds a little too much like real life @Chryssie :)

I am still reading Grace Burrowes and am upset by how they treated women back then and was discussing it with my honey last night and was musing about how that some people, in one particular country today, have already reversed the cause of women and would send us back to those days completely if can get away with it. I am very thankful to be living in Canada.

I read "Pendergast, the Beginning" by Preston and Child. This new book is a prequel to the Pendergast series. I have read a couple of these a long time ago, the most memorable being "The Relic" which was made into a movie back in 1997. This book's epilogue contains an excerpt from that book. I looked for the movie and found it streaming so I will watch it sometime. Pendergast is a very unique FBI agent with amazing crime solving skills.

another book by Carley Fortune - Our Perfect Storm - very much enjoyed it as it is a great storyline and anyone from Ontario, British Columbia or the East Coast of Canada will very much also as the settings are so recognizable - part of it is set in Tofino, BC and it makes me want to go there as I have only been on the west coast of the US and haven't been to the west coast of Canada

Yesterday I read "An Accident of Dragons" by Cheri Radke. I picked it up in the new books section because it has dragons. It is a fun fantasy about an island called Summer which is watched over and protected by an ancient female dragon also named Summer. She bonds with one human to rule the land and he is called Lord Summer. Yes this can cause some confusion. LOL The current Lord is a 40 year old flamboyant gay man who was chosen by the dragon because he was in a relationship with the former Lord who died. The society on Summer is very liberal about relationships. Drama begins when Zinnia, the Lord's 5 year old daughter, is kidnapped. The story is about love and relationships and was an enjoyable read.

Oh my, I do not know why, but I am somehow not reading anything right now.

Somehow I am lazy and don’t really feel like picking up a book, or my kindle, although I have both a lot of books to read, and some new books loaded to my Kindle.

This is also not really improving my overall mood

I picked up Agatha harkness fall of the coven because I like Agatha hardness. But then I read some reviews that people don't like it at all. It's a why a book I didn't realize it. I have zero attention span read right now, I just can't focus.
Nope. I couldn't get into it. Dnf.

TBH. I have 0 mental strength to focus on reading right now.
The one I'm trying to read next is sometimes I scare myself, jeneva rose. It's short stories so maybe I can. I'm just so exhausted every day.

I just finished book 2 in the Winter Park series by Meredith Lavender and Kendall Shores called "Perfect Life." The first one was "Happy Wife" so I see a trend here. Life is anything but perfect in the affluent Winter Park neighborhood when a well liked bartender is found murdered. Lots of secrets and lies and twists. Same characters as book one with focus on a different couple this time. I like the characters and the location so will look for book three to be published.
