As usual....Gary makes a number of baseless claims. The paleo-diet is much different than the standard diet and there have been very few studies on it so to what degree people consuming it suffer from heart disease, cancer, etc simply isn't known. There are not dozens and dozens of studies showing that vegans live longer, and in fact, some of the largest studies on plant-oriented diets have shown vegans to have reduced mortality compared to vegetarians and semi-vegetarians. There isn't much to discuss in terms of vegan vs paleo because the paleo diet is a particular diet where as vegan is not. But vegan diets, when scienced based and healthful, should have an edge over paleo diets because they include health promoting whole grains, legumes, etc.
