Vegan Shoes-Trainers,Runners,Walking

Does anyone know of any super high-quality walking shoes? I need stuff that works well with my orthotics. I am cheap. But, I need my $250 dollar shoes to prevent knee pain. My current shoes are not vegan at all. I am very embarrassed to admit this.

as far as I know good running shoes are good walking shoes.

Now, If only there was a thread where people have been contributing for years. One that had plenty of suggestions on and discussions on shoes.

I will start a thread now. I have felt guilty about this for too long.

I currently wear shoes with way too much leather. I feel horrible about this. I need recommendations for very high-quality walking shoes because I have flat feet. Please give me your recommendations. My current shoes cost $250. They are not fashionable. But, they are very functional.

I don't think there is a difference between walking shoes and running shoes. so any good running shoe/ sneaker should do the job. and we have a thread on that that is really good.

however.

My sister has plantar fasciitis and got a pair of Kurus and is super happy with them. they make several vegan styles. Plus the make shoes for a variety of foot problems, styles, and uses. Check out their web page. She has the Quantum. And I know she has been talking about getting a hiking shoe from them too.

This website is pretty handy and has lots of reviews.

I've always liked Merrill for hiking boots. but I just noticed they have a whole lot of vegan shoes now

Every. Foot. is. Different.
I've spent more time shopping for just comfortable shoes that truly fit my fit more than any other product.
I have several issues that work against each other, so orthodics didn't really work
I still wear old leather shoes to work because they offer the support I need, and overall fit. I've gone through sooooo many vegan shoes, and honestly, did not come near, but they've also been made of softer materials
Really doesn't help to suggest for other people. Everyone tells me NEw Balance when I've already gone through sooo many of their styles that are 'supposed' to be right for my foot.
I'm probably going to have to see a specialist again. Sure didn't help the last time 🙄

We have a shoe store called Road Runners here. but I don't think they are particularly unique.

anyway when you go in they measure your foot like any shoe store does. then they have you stand on a machine that is some kind of scale and measures how much weight is coming down on every square centimeter of your foot. they they have you walk barefoot on a treadmill and they have a video camera behind each foot and they analyze your gait. And of course they ask you all kind of "lifestyle" questions, like how many miles or hours a week, what kind of terrain, issues, pains etc.

then they make recommendations. have you sit down and they bring out all the shoes that they think would be a good fit and have you try them all on and go for a walk or run with each one.

Once I find a shoe that I like and it gets worn out I will try to replace it online for less- but Road runners frequently had the best price anyway.

I ended up buying my last pair of shoes from them online. It was a good deal.

I just ordered these Skechers. Labelled Vegan!

My daughter just bought a pair of vegan-labelled Skechers from a real brick-and-mortar Skecher shop in Oxford!

Skechers also have a UK website / shop for those who prefer that or can't visit a physical shop: Lifestyle and athletic footwear and apparel for men, women, and kids filled with innovative comfort technologies.

We have a Skechers store in my TJ Maxx Plaza now! I was so happy to see it! I have already spent a good bit there. I love it that they have vegan shoes and it is clearly stated on the box.

Skechers are my favorite. I have several pair.

Skechers even has sandals! I was never a fan of sandals. They were never that comfortable but I now have 3 pairs of Skechers sandals. In Florida sandals are worn year round and I was very happy to find them. One pair is one of the Arch Fit line and they are super comfy, even better than sneakers. My next pair of shoes will be Arch Fit sneakers. They are expensive though.

What about Converse canvas ones?
The short answer is: some Converse trainers are vegan, but many are not. We are happy to report, however, that the ultra popular canvas-based Chuck Taylor All Stars are indeed vegan, as they use a vegan-friendly glue and do not include any materials that derived from animals.

Have you tried any of the options from Enda? They're a charitable brand that's based in Kenya, with their shoes being made there also.
