Hi, would anyone in Australia know where I could buy some vegan licorice? All the ones I've seen in the supermarket contain e471 emulsifier which is usually obtained from pork. Thanks.

I buy various brands of Australian soft liquorice and they're all vegan friendly. Other US and UK brands sometimes contain gelatine so you do
have to check the list of ingredients. I've never heard of the emulsifier you mention.
I'm always intrigued by some newbies! They join the forum, ask a question (usually for advise) and never come back to either read the replies or acknowledge our members' who have made an effort to help.
Finished with your little boo-hoo there Shyvas...my life doesn't revolve around the internet. Anyway, thanks for the information. However I don't consider strawberry flavour as licorice. Looks like the proper black variety all contain 471 and unless it specifically says vegetable emulsifier then it's most likely from an animal source. Thanks.
