My all-time favorite movies when it comes to Halloween include the masterful Vincent Price.
Vincent Price could read a telephone directory and make it sound unsettling. :D

Maybe for Halloween, I'll turn on my lava lamp (no other lights on), maybe light a candle or two, and settle down with a volume of H. P. Lovecraft stories...

If it's nice and windy that night, the effect will be perfect.
