"Smart" Credit and Debit Cards are coming in 2015

chip-and-pin contact
paypass/paywave (contactless payment) << thats a neat way to pay

Been like that since about 2012
 
I just received my Target chip card in the mail. One of my visa cards is a chip card; Walgreens' card reader thing has a special slot that reads chip cards now, I discovered recently.

Maybe Amy ...but not me . i received a new card and was at the check out counter and accidentally swiped the paypass , it took the check out lady to point out what i had done . didn't even know it was on my card ....then she had to explain it all to me :rolleyes::rolleyes: .
We get a lot of new technology rolled out here before the rest of the world because we are a small country and only just over 4 mill people , so the cost is not great for the providers . Its mainly to see if it works .
