Russian special forces soldiers have killed four suspected militants during anti-terror operations in the city of Saint Petersburg.
... at least three of the slain militants were wanted over connections to several terror attacks and assassination attempts in Russia’s North Caucasus.
It said that a cache of guns, ammunition and several improvised explosive devices were also found in the apartment in which the terrorists were hiding.
Elsewhere in the country, police killed two men armed with guns and axes after they attacked traffic police in the town of Balashikha, located some 20 kilometers (12 miles) east of the capital city of Moscow. The men, reportedly Central Asians, wounded two policemen before they were killed.
