Glenn Miller who was the best and most humane artist during WW2 sadly died somewhere near the white cliffs of Dover. RIP.

"There’ll Be Bluebirds Over) The White Cliffs Of Dover (Burton-Kent) by Glenn Miller & his Orchestra, vocal by Ray Eberle.

This hopeful lyric about wartime England was composed in 1941 before America entered the war and turned into a major U.S. hit in early ‘42, spending five weeks at #1 on ‘Your Hit Parade’ and spawning several best-selling recordings. These three posted versions by Glenn Miller, Kay Kyser and Kate Smith all reached the Billboard weekly top-10 sales chart."

Canadians were a big part of both World Wars and I saw this amazing article today on CBC about the Canadian soldiers who were present at Vimy Ridge and I learned about the caves that are underneath, where they lived and were shielded somewhat until they went up top for battle. Fascinating story and work that is being done to try to preserve the artwork on the walls.
