Sweden's director of public prosecutions has decided to drop the rape investigation into Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.

Marianne Ny said his arrest warrant was being revoked as it was impossible to serve him notice of his alleged crimes.

Mr Assange, 45, has lived in the Ecuadorean embassy in London since 2012, fearing extradition to Sweden would lead to extradition to the US.

However, UK police is still planning to arrest him for "failing to surrender to a court", which is a charge punishable by up to 1 year in prison.

That's a ridiculous reason to drop it. They should have at least kept it in place until the statute of limitations runs out.

I think it's strange the US hasn't sent out an arrest warrant.

As for the rape charges, I don't know what to think. I would think it's difficult to prove guilt even if he is guilty.

Hehe, if a word was posted by mischief, then you probably are better with urban slang dictionary than google ;-)

But indeed, I agree with her!
