So basically I wonder if certain supplements like protein powders are tested on animals?

Cause I never really thought about it before, but I saw someone saying that "a bunch of packaged food is animal tested" which tbh after looking into this question seems like an exaggeration, because if I understand it correctly they only test newly created ingredients on animals for a safety test in some cases?

With supplements it's a bit different, I feel like they could be animal tested more commonly... so I check the vitamin brands I buy.

But recently i was looking for a vegan protein powder and i found some, but there is no information about those brands and animal testing. Yk they dont exactly put "cruelty free" on food like they do with cosmetics. Even though i doubt protein powder would be tested on animals im a bit paranoid at this point 😭

Any thoughts?

In the USA, The FDA does not require protein powders to be tested on animals.
However they are "food" so they are subject to various tests for safety reasons.
