Pi Day!

π Day is March 14th and this year it is very special for people who write dates in the MM/DD/YY format because the sequence will be quite a bit longer than usual with 3/14/15 9:26:53.

So anyone have any plans for pie that day (as if you needed a reason)? I'll be making a tomato pie because I live near Philly but I've never had one and I'm not in the mood for a sweet pie or making pie crust.

Interesting, I had never heard of Pi Day before, but now that you mention it, it makes sense that there is one

Pi is a strange number. In earlier times it would surely have been thought to have magical properties.

Anyway, if you do make a pie, make sure to measure the circumference and diameter, and see what number you get for pi! I.e. the circumference of the pie (assuming it is circular) divided by the diameter

I've never heard of Pi day. Last week it was pie week in the UK.

I'm not planning on making one, however I really like a delicious, home made pie.
