November Health Challenge (2018)

I've been doing videos and walking outside, though this weekend was a wash because I had company and I didn't really get in any workouts. Back on the health train tomorrow, though. :)
Excuse me, if this is not a big secret, what kind of videos have you been doing?:flirt:

I managed to do the lower body workout last week, and my legs were sore for two days afterwards! It felt really good to do it, though. I'll do the same routine this week.

Today I got to see my progress report at the chiropractor. The X-rays show improvement already. Thank god! I've been going twice a week for the past two months! Now I only have to go once a week, but he found out I've been skipping my "homework," and he admonished me about that.

I've started to do quick 10-15 minute homeworkouts which is all I can manage atm but will hopeully build up to slightly longer.

I wasn't sure what exercises to do but we have some of those resistance bands which are really great for pregnancy workouts! Or any workouts obviously. Plus I've found a local yoga class that I'll try out soon & definitely need to get swimming too.

Yoga and swimming would seem to be the best types of exercise for pregnant woman. Talking long walks is also beneficial towards enjoying a healthy pregnancy. BTW, how are you feeling ?;)

I've only been doing yoga/pilates/stretches for the last several weeks since that issue with my back/hip/pelvis. It is greatly improved but not completely. Too much walking seems to aggravate it. I miss my morning walks, though. :(
I will have to go back to the doctor and have them pursue a cause at some point. I find it hard to believe that everything is simply fibromyalgia related, although I spoke to someone today who was also diagnosed and she has almost the exact same symptoms. I need to make sure it's not something orthopedic-related. I mean, maybe I have a pinched nerve or disc issue. They need to rule that out before I can accept that this is something that's going to occur repeatedly.

I find that it's always time consuming and difficult to get a diagnosis when you have many symptoms. Every doctor has a different opinion.
This results in lots of anxiety for a patient as many illnesses have so many different symptoms. Plus patients all have their own perception of either a pain or discomfort.
I've just seen two different doctors ( GP and a specialist) and they have given me two different opinions. I now have to see a third specialist so I'll be interesting to have his take on it.

I hope that you get some answers KL.;)

I got a book about using a foam roller for back pain and remembered it talked about being good for fibro. I didn't really do enough from it to say anything, but tons of people give it positive reviews.

Foam roller, where have you been all my fibro life?

This was the book, wasn't very clear to me, probably better ones-https://www.amazon.com/MELT-Method-Breakthrough-Self-Treatment-Eliminate-ebook/dp/B007HB8EYY/ref=pd_cp_351_3?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=ef4dc990-a9ca-4945-ae0b-f8d549198ed6&pf_rd_r=TDGV4DRBT1D0DBF6FXJA&pd_rd_wg=ai61M&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&pd_rd_w=8qYZq&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pd_rd_r=ed913107-f008-11e8-b188-2fb63616cf11&pd_rd_i=B007HB8EYY&psc=1&refRID=TDGV4DRBT1D0DBF6FXJA

Yoga was good :) it's more stretching, relaxation & breathing techniques than exercise but really enjoyable so I'll continue with that weekly.

Haven't managed anything else yet  oops.

I’ve been walking most days and trying to do 30 minute yoga sessions three or four times a week. I’ve had a lot of lower back pain this month - especially around thanksgiving so I think it might have something to do with standing and cooking...? But so far nothing seems to help (except for Advil, but I hate taking it) so I just keep doing what I can do. :(

If you have persistent back pain do consult a doctor. If it doesn't ease with pain killers, rest and a hot pad it may be something else that has nothing to do with your back.;)

I had some kind of lower back/hip/pelvic pain and it lasted a good six weeks. It’s the third time this has flared up over the past two years and it’s taken the longest to recover from. So annoying. They did tests to rule out anything internal...kidneys, bladder, gynocological, but they didn’t test for what seems like the obvious to me...muscular or some orthopedic issue. I’m definitely pushing for that the next time it rears it’s ugly head. I did find that rest did the most to alleviate the pain. Once I started feeling better I started doing yoga/stretching exercises. That feels really good. I am still unable to kick into full walking mode though, which is upsetting. It’s what I love the most. But anything prolonged sets the pain off again. Even walking the stores for more than half an hour is becoming a problem. Ugh.

I mix powdered tumeric with just a bit of powdered black pepper and take a half teaspoon in a shot of water, followed by more water, every moring. I'll do another shot at night if I exert myself, or feel some stiffness. I find it helps my arthritis a LOT.
I've been having lower back pain myself lately, keeping it at bay with exercise. It feels like compression. so I tried to do a head stand! WOW. Havent' tried that in a very long time! i gave up as it felt I could hurt myself!
I wonder about those inversion things?
