TV & Film Movie Lounge

I watched the new knives out movie on Netflix.
First 30 minutes were slow moving. Afterwards I thought of a few ways the writers could have avoided that. but it did help lay the ground for the mystery. As I type this I'm wondering if that was an homage or an imitation of early golden age mysteries that they didn't quite pull off.
Anyway it did follow some of the classic rules for murder mysteries. All the suspects and most of the clues were introduced early. Plus it was super twisty and kept me guessing till almost the end.

Oh. and great casting, snappy dialogue, and superb craftsmanship throughout.

I think we still have not finished watching it... hmmm

Watched another Jason Statham called "A Working Man." This time he is a construction worker (former black-ops) whose mission is to rescue his boss's teen daughter who was kidnapped by Russian mob sex traffickers. Typical action thriller with lots of violence. I liked it.

Meet Joe Black was one of the movies I bought my honey for Christmas and I am so glad that I did as we watched it last night. I thought I knew the movie well and instead saw so many things I didn't remember and we both enjoyed it thoroughly.

I have always loved Brad's hair in the movie and wish I could have a wig made just like it.... LOL

I just went to see The Housemaid at the cinema. A lot of people gasped at the same time so I imagine they didn't read the books first. I thought it was well done, although a bit too long. 8/10.

I watched Lion which is the true story of an Indian boy called Saroo Bierley. A must watch film for those who enjoy against all odds stories that
have a happy ending. Beautifully filmed with superb acting, especially the little boy who plays Saroo.

I just watched "Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere." I am a big fan so was happy to see this on Hulu. The acting is really good. It is about a small period of time in 1981-1982 when Bruce was struggling with depression. It is not a happy movie. It is very emotional and has flashbacks to his troubling childhood. A really good movie if you are a fan.

For any of you who have Amazon Prime, this film is worth watching. Moreover, it was shot in East Sussex (mainly Seaford) and there are many places that are so familiar. You can see the wonderful walks from Seaford to Seven Sisters and the train station where the train runs to Brighton.

we watched The Accountant 2 last night - found it very confusing toward the end however I did read that it is going to have a third part so maybe that will clear up some of the confusion
