So is spending money on a toddlers birthday, for that matter. They aren't going to remember, they don't know what's going on. It's more for their parents. Giving our animal companions special treats on special days is as much for us to remember and honor them as it is for us.

And for the record, Lola gets birthday gifts, and Christmas gifts.
