Unfortunately he isn’t Vegan, however he sure has done a heck of a lot of good for the planet!
Many thanks to him for being a beacon of hope and inspiration for humanity…
Most likely he has inspired Many people to care about the environment and the animals through his work…
Best wishes to him for a Fabulous Birthday!

He still eats animals. I don't get what he has to do with veganism.

He's not someone serious enough about either the planet or animals to stop eating animals or to commit to any lifestyle change.

I'm sure he has heard of "Livestock Long Shadow" (UN report). I'm sure he knows many climate activists are dietary vegans/plant-based. I'm sure he knows that his many international flights have really harmed the planet.

I'm sure he has eaten chicken from the producers who have basically destroyed the River Wye in Hertfordshire - currently the UK's biggest environmental legal battles.
UK's biggest ever environmental pollution claim reaches High Court

Donald Watson lived almost as long - to 95 - despite being a rather sickly child who left school at 14.

Raising awareness of the Animal life around us and encouraging people to see the Environment as a Fragile entity is what I feel has to do with Veganism… This was simply a post about his birthday and as I said Unfortunately he is not a Vegan, just like the majority of people living on this planet, however few of those other people do much of anything to raise awareness about Animals or the Environment…

It would be Wonderful if everyone were Vegan, however they’re not…

I just don't think he's a big deal. He is enmeshed with speciecism, which is anti-vegan.
He *eats* animals. It is hypocritical and ridiculous that he sees himself as an animal advocate. He's only interested in wild animals. From a biological standpoint only.

He could have done so much more but instead he made a fortune, became a national hero and had a ship named after him and kept eating animals. 100 years of that.

Yes, he eats animals - as do the Majority of people on this planet!
If I were to limit myself to only Vegans as people whom I admire it would be limiting…
It’s fine that you @insomniac don’t admire him or think that he’s helping the cause of Animals - perhaps You will go forth and bring Awareness in ways that he hasn’t
