Last Thing You Bought?

A can of Amy's quinoa, red lentil and kale soup.
$5.49/can. Ridiculous. The good thing is, I use it as a base...I add more broth, rice, meatless grounds and tofu to make it more hearty and stretch farther. I'll get three servings from it. It's really good with a piece of toasted bread and butter.

I bought some Christmas presents: a Harry Potter-themed makeup brush set for one of my nieces, a pair of Mandalorian-themed PJ pants for a nephew and a book of scary stories for my great-nephew Nolan (he's a big horror fan!) and a coloring book with scary characters in it.

My espresso maker died. I knew it was dying, but was in total denial. lol. Anyways, I decided to go with the Breville Bambino as my replacement. So far it's pulling amazing shots. I'm really liking this machine a lot.

Any other coffee lovers here besides me?

Yes, indeed, I am a coffee lover, though I don't have an espresso machine (I wish I did, though!).

I just spend too much time on a Vitacost order. I wanted Frontier chik'n Boullion, Bobs rye flour--they had great sales including 20% off, and I obsessed with getting free shipping 🙄 . I ended up with things I use so didn't feel bad. More flours, farro, lip balm, and tahini which my discount store didn't have

It’s a miracle! I tried something new and I actually love it… There’s no weird seasoning taste or anything. It just tastes really good.

Just curious if there is any mushroom flavor in it. I have shied away from buying the mushroom-based proteins, but if they don't taste like mushrooms, I might consider it. I've seen a line of them in WF (I forget the brand name), and the prices weren't too awful.

It did not taste like mushroom to me. But then I do like mushrooms, when I'm in the mood for them that is. So I'm not sure if I just didn't notice a mushroom flavor. I found this in my Big Y.

Thank you. I have a Big Y near me, so maybe I will give the crumbles a go.

I ordered a clock and a book from Amazon. I did try not to use Amazon for a while for books, but have bought the odd one or two now.

I got vitamins, bean spread, vegetable bouillon, chocolate and tortilla chips from Holland & Barrett.

I also bought a vegan croissant with jam from Cafe Nero.

Is it the Raspberry Vegan croissant from Cafe Nero? It’s one of the few Vegan treats in chain coffee shops here in Ireland, they are Quite tasty I think

I popped into Carrefours this afternoon as I wanted to do some activism plus buy some vegan cream cheeze. It was strange as there were very few customers in the store so I distributed tons of mini cards (confetti) with illustrations of animals, onto the shelves with slogans saying 'The only gift that I wish is that there are - 50 % of animals slaughtered'!

I used the self scan service and there was an error of 30 cts on the Violife cream cheeze. The lady called someone to go and check the price. However, she had no idea of what the product was or the pronunciation so the woman obviously couldn't locate the latter. To my big surprise, I was told that I could have it for free. This never happens. o_O So, in a way it made me giggle as they would never have given it to an activist for free.o_O

Yes. I don’t normally go in there, but I thought they had an vegan apple crumble cheesecake or something. The man said he knew the raspberry croissants were def vegan. I think that was better than the Pret vegan croissant from what I remember.🙂

I just bought a gorgeous blue carbon steel Yosukata wok and Iwatani 15,000 BTU butane stove for my wok, specifically. My pathetic electric stove just wouldn't cut it for this purpose. I cooked my first stir-fry in it last night. The wok and stove performed amazingly. I am so happy with this purchase!

I bought a case of Amy's quinoa, kale, red lentil soup from Amazon. I pay anywhere from $4.99-$5.49 a can in the supermarkets. The case comes out to $2.73/can.

I love the soup… I use it as a base and I add a little more broth along with more lentils and either rice or elbow macaroni. It makes for a nice hearty meal with a piece of toasted sourdough bread.
