I got a message today from a woman who claimed to be a childhood friend, thought of me often, and remembered me fondly. She gave some bare bones information about a local elementary school. This would have been in the 1960's.
The difficulty with this scenario was that I had been a sickly child, and up until 7 years was in and out of hospitals. I skipped 2 years and graduated H.S. at 16. Before that I was either in school, or home reading. There were no athletics, after school clubs, etc. I was very introverted, and happy that way.
I would like to warn people about strangers showing up with a little bit of information and claiming relationships. We elderly are at great risk for scams.
