These goats weren't escaping from a slaughterhouse or anything dire.
These are goats that eat vegetation in order to reduce fire hazards. They were just going on a little vacation.
The last time goats made the local news was when a herd got boosted in the middle of the night. That was a sad story because those goats were well cared for. Those goats were working on clearing the weeds at an abandoned driving range and they probably got slaughtered and sold for meat.
I know the driving range goats were left overnight with a guard dog. The guard dog was unharmed. Probably just distracted with a T-bone. I'm not sure if these goats had a dog or not. But I suppose when a herd of goats wants to go one way they are difficult to stop.
