I like oat groats! I do rinse all grains--just under running water to get the dust off and check for any debris. Grains are one food I do get organic, as conventional are often sprayed with glysophate after harvest to promote drying (something like that)
They shouldn't be consumed raw, but you can sprout them.
I like to pressure cook (Instant Pot)set for 13 minutes
You can put them in a good blender to break them down into flour, or just pulse to make the 'pinhead", or steel cut oats
