TV & Film Doctor Who (Spoilers!)

I was pleasantly surprised by Series 6, and Series 7 episodes 1-2. Granted, the Daleks acted dumb, but Oswin's reveal was done very well and was quite emotional.

Dinosaurs on a Spaceship was confusing because, well, didn't the Silurians live and die off during, uh, the Silurian Period? Why would they have dinosaurs? But whatever. They did an excellent job with the dinos, IMO.

What did he do now?

First sexist joke only seven minutes into the new episode.

Graphics of math data type stuff on the screen. I thought it was clever when I first saw it on Sherlock, but why is it being used again on DW? Is he confused as to which show he's working on?

Stale old storyline. *yawn*

“There’s this issue you’re not allowed to discuss: that women are needy. Men can go for longer, more happily, without women. That’s the truth. We don’t, as little boys, play at being married - we try to avoid it for as long as possible. Meanwhile women are out there hunting for husbands.”

It is really hard to watch some of his episodes because of the rampant sexism. Granted, he's not the only writer to possess these views and to put them into scripts (derp) but it's just so obvious when he does it. I'm almost nervously laughing whenever something like that happens.

Good example:
"When I regenerate, it feels like I'm dying."
vs.
"Shut up Dad, I'm concentrating on a dress size!"

Holy crap :(

I can largely ignore it because I just LOVE Doctor Who and actually, apart from his issues with women, I enjoy his writing.

But holy crap :(

Holy fk, I'd blocked that line from my memory. :(

Yeah, Let's Kill Hitler was pretty awful. Which is a shame, because it introduced the Teselecta which was pretty neat.

I'm still not quite over how easily they blew off Melody being their childhood friend. That seemed very rushed. And with the whole River Song plotline that Moffat so clearly had planned out, how did they not mention her before? Unnecessary addition and dumb. That's before you even get into the ridiculousness of the Hitler cameo, the strange obsession with the Doctor that River had from birth (I get she's part Time Lord, but why? Was it the damned space cracks again?), and the complete rewriting of regeneration rules (she gave him all her energy, sure, except this show is 50 years old and that's not how it works).
