Not looking to make myself look like crap however.... Steven Spielberg made his mark in his twenties... and I admire him so... do you ever feel like you could have done that also but missed your mark?

When I was little, my "What do you want to be when you grow up?" answers were usually things like archaeologist, veterinarian, treasure hunter (like Indiana Jones, or finding long lost sunken ships, etc.) I also wish I would have kept on playing the cello, as I think I could have made something out of that.

I always admire people that know from an early age what they want to do and then pursue it from the get-go. I was always going back and forth because I had an interest in many things and not just tunnel vision for one.

I actually accomplished what I set out to do, initially, but with probably another 20-30 years left in me, I should be doing more with phase II of my life.:sadnod:

Just saw this on FB...I think it is appropriate for this thread. :)

Very nice. I keep reminding myself that im not even 30 yet. I have time to 'make it'
I think when you pass 23-25 you start to feel like life is running away...or at least it did with me.

Nah, but I never had any real desire other than to marry a woman I love, have a family, be happy and do my own thing. Phase one done. Phase two, wait till the kids get a little older and have families of their own so I can spoil grandkids. Phase three will to become a cantankerous old guy.

Will you yell at the local kids to 'get off yer dang lawn' whilst shaking your walking stick at them ;)

Oh hell yes, lol. Actually I do try to get to know all the neighbor kids and am friendly with them, let them use our basketball hoop, pick and eat as many of our raspberries as they want, make sure to buy raffles or whatever fundraiser is going on at the time, etc. I'll just be cantankerous with other adults.

I think it can be very self destructive to look back and think about everything one might have done/achieved. It's much healthier to take a look at oneself in the present and try to make of life what one wants going forward.

I'm 28... had my first relationship at 27... had my first holiday abroad at 28... hopelly will be starting my Masters at 29... then teaching English abroad after..

I want to always be planning, then going on travels, or learning... all I want is freedom. I can't see myself settling down and having a family, or mortgage like my friends.

It's never to late to do most things... but as we get older, we often do get more financial and family commitments and maybe take less chances?

I always wanted to do something with animals for a career, but I am far too squeemish to be a vet or any of those other fields that would require biology classes and dissection. I sometimes think that running a shelter or rescue would be very rewarding, but it's not really something you can do and earn a livable wage, more like something you do on the side, once you have some capital and spare time. Maybe when I am older.... In the mean time, I volunteer at my local shelter whenever possible.

I played the cello, too, I love that instrument. Do you love these guys?

I've seen them live! <3

(They were at the Elton John concert I went to last year. I'm just that cool  )

As for this thread. Yes I do. I've completely wasted my life and I haven't got a ******* clue what I'm going to do with the rest of it. Not even sure I want the rest of it.
