Hong Kong's feral cows are starting to help themselves to the fresh produce sections of local supermarkets.

I don't understand?
Feral cows? Are cows native to Hong Kong? Or were they imported and then escaped to become feral?
Are cows protected in Hong Kong like the way they are protected in India?
The cows have live in harmony with the humans as long as "they don’t disrupt traffic, **** in the streets, or help themselves to fruit and vegetables in supermarkets." That seems like a lot to expect from a cow.
So many questions?
