COSTCO TAKES MEAT HOT DOGS OFF MENU TO MAKE ROOM FOR VEGAN FOOD
By Nadia Murray-Ragg
This is an amazing time we are living in. It seems like a week doesn't go by before another vegan news item hits the streets. Although Live Kindly isn't what anyone would call Mainstream, this particular article found it's way into my Google News Aggregator.
I never go to Costco. But a lot of my friends make weekly pilgrimages. I know they all love the hot dogs. I want to hear their reactions to this.
According to the article Costco launched a product like the Beyond Meat patty and sold a million of them in the first two months. Frozen meatless patties aren't what I would call "real vegan food" and I doubt anyone would call it WFPB. But it reminds me of an article I read about animal rights advocacy years ago. The author was definitely of the opinion that our efforts should be to convert ten people halfway than to convert one person all the way (or something like that). No matter what, this is a step in the right direction. Go, Vegans!
