Companion Animal Memorial Thread

So sorry Raven. It does bring a bit of peace that she was able to die at home, and also for her friend

I am relieved that we were there as we are out this week and it would have been far worse to have found her when we got home. She is going to be in a communal cemetery with other pets.

They asked if we wanted to have her ashes. I find that quite a morbid idea as we haven't had any of our pets cremated and kept. I know some people like the idea.

Sable went to join her mom, (my sister) in heaven this afternoon. My son has been caring for her the last 18 months from when my sister went into the nursing home and subsequently passed away. She was a mean tempered cat but for some reason bonded with my son. She mostly hissed and swatted at me, the little stinker, although the last few days she started being nice to me. Maybe she knew she was dying. I'm glad we were able to give her a home these past months.

This thread makes me feel so sad.

I was thinking of Shyva a few minutes ago. I was coming back from Lidl's and it's a hot day today. Whilst I was walking up the road alongside my residence, I kept myself in the shade as there is a wall between the garden and pavement. Shyva always did the same thing as she hated the heat.
I always thought that she was so intelligent! Perhaps, I'm just a proud mum here!

@KLS52 It was kind of you and your son to take care of Sable. I don't know why that cat didn't warm up to you.
She was evil to everyone except my sister and one of her home health aides. And then fortunately she took really well to my son.
