News Britain arming Saudi Arabia

From the same article:
Saudi Arabia and the UK have long had close dealings in the arms trade. Saudi Arabia is Britain’s largest customer for weapons and the UK is the Gulf nation’s single biggest supplier, according to CAAT.
So this is nothing new, it's business as usual. What is different is the changing political landscape and increasing tensions in the Mid East which come as a result of 1) the US now increasingly pulling out and not engaging to the same extent as before, and 2) existing internal conflicts within and between these countries between Sunnis and Shiites, and between islamists and more moderate governments. In the power vacuum left behind by the US, regional powers fight for maintaining or even increasing their influence.

If the UK and other western powers ended their support of the Saudi regime, then the Saudi regime will probably either try to find another powerful ally like Russia or China, which would not care too much about human rights, or the regime will fall and be replaced by the Caliphate, which would likely be even worse for human rights. So it's not a straightforward situation.

I think Russia and China care about human rights as much as Western powers do, and possibly more in Russia's case. The United States is still heavily involved in the Middle East. Still in Iraq, Syria, and may even be in Libya since we allegedly killed someone there last week. We also have an arms deal with Saudi Arabia, which may be a factor in this conflict:

The only solution would have been not to get involved in Iraq since extremist groups were powerless back then. The Western powers decided to carve up the Middle East in World War 1 so they all have responsibility for the mess. Many people expect the Middle East to have water shortages very soon so I expect we'll see even more conflict.

United States has caused more conflict throughout the world than the other countries combined. I'm familiar enough with US history to realize how bad we've been regardless of what one source from New York City(which all signs point to being very biased) has to say.

I'm chuckling at the thought that the U.S. human rights record is no better than China's or Russia's.
World Bank and International Monetary Fund have created huge misery in several continents.
Caused huge suffering in Korea, Vietnam, Laos, and Iraq more than once.
Blamed on the Iraq-Iran war and Saddam's rise in power.
Contributed to Pol Pot's rise strongly.
Caused huge suffering in Germany and Japan, possibly killing millions.
Doesn't give some of its own citizens health insurance, very high incarceration rate, etc. etc.
