Our wildlife research is helping us better understand how wildlife move across the landscape. You'll be surprised at what we're finding under the highway.
Several years before I met my wife, I had lunch with a woman who worked professionally to track wildlife travel in populated areas. Part of her job was to plan wildlife paths under highways, in order to help prevent animal deaths from motor traffic.
It's always such a sad scene to see animals killed on the motorways and dual carriageways. I very often see hedgehogs runover and the other day,
surprisingly a cat. I would have thought that the latter sensed the danger but sadly not.
