It seems that this season, FOX is where it's at for television that is animal friendly.

Several weeks ago, Bones featured an episode in which Brennan and Booth go inside the horrifying world of exotic wild animals sold and kept as pets, which the storyline points out is legal in the US.

(It should be noted that star/producer Emily Deschanel is a vegan and has gone on record as stating that she tries to get a pro-animal episode in each season. A past such episode took place at a chicken "factory" and exposed the cruel world of poultry slaughterhouses.)

Next week, there are two FOX comedies airing special Thanksgiving episodes: Ben and Kate on Tuesday, November 20 and the animated The Cleveland Show on Sunday, November 25. Both feature plots in which the characters attempt to save turkeys from becoming Thanksgiving dinner.

(disclaimer: I do not watch either of the latter two shows)

I love Bones anyway, and the pro-animal messages that are in it just make me love it more! For those who haven't seen it, one of the characters - Clark - is a vegan, and he's not portrayed as any of the negative stereotypes often seen on TV, or made fun of at all for it :) Bones herself is also a vegetarian.
