Air Quality Canadian Wildfires

Please start checking the air quality on a daily basis. The Canadian wildfires are going strong and most of us in the northern states are listed as being at dangerous levels.

I have my windows and blinds closed. The windows because of the air quality, and the blinds closed because there is heat wave going on here. I run the AC early in the morning to chill down the house and fans during the day. The dark house seems to keep the heat down. If I have to go out, I still have my Covid masks and hope that will help.

I live next to a riverside park and have been watching all of the people walking, biking, and children playing.

One of the problems is that they are dousing the fires with fire suppressants that create a smoke that spreads. We are breathing the fire suppressant chemicals directly in our lungs. That is why, last year, the air smelled like burning plastic.

I, personally, believe they should have an alert system for dangerous air quality like they have for tornadoes and flash floods. All of the people sending their children to play outside, and breathing in toxic chemicals. People wonder why people that have never smoked get lung cancer. Maybe them breathing in toxic chemicals during their morning runs might be one of the causes.

Last year, I spent most of the summer inside. I guess it will be the same this year.

This is outragreous--though not unexpected. A co worker made a joke today that rump will try and tariff Canada over the fires--our senator Bernie Moreno is participating
