Music What bands/concerts have you seen?

They're coming to Cleveland this summer and I forgot the presale date .
Oh no, annoying. We were trying to get seated, but we ended up with standing in the presale.

We have two elderly pets, but when we don't I would like to go to the US to see a band. Combine a holiday with seeing a band.

I will be seeing Nine Inch Nails in both Boston and Minnesota in August. On Tuesday, I'm going to see Jerry Cantrell in Boston. I also have Creed in July (a local show!) and Steven Wilson (in Boston, I believe) in September.

It's shaping up to a be a good concert year. The prices are insane for tickets, so I do pick and choose which ones I can swing. In the old days, I probably would have hit up six or seven NIN shows, but now I'm lucky to get to two. I'll be staying with my friends in Minnesota, and they are coming out for the Boston show and will stay at my house.

How much do you pay for a ticket in the US? Concerts are expensive here, we paid £180 for two tickets for NIN.

Ours were a bit more, with all the stupid fees they dump on a ticket. We paid about $185 per ticket, which includes about $35 to $40 in fees. The prices were all over the map. Some were going as high as $600 apiece, like for pit or floor seats. We are in the lower bowl for both shows, but we're high up in the section.

People on a NIN FB fan page were posting their totals for two pit or floor seats, and the price was over $1,000! I could never. I'm wincing at having to pay what we did for our tickets. Steven Wilson was under $100 as was Jerry Cantrell. I think the Creed tickets were right around $110 each. I miss the days of $60 and $70 tickets, lol.

Right? It's ridiculous what they get away with regarding the fees. Nice on Papa Roach. I have Jerry Cantrell tomorrow. Very excited!

I bought lawn tickets for Primus and a Perfect circle in May. I love claypool and a perfect circle was a fun bonus.
Is that the Sessanta tour? I went to that last year, and it was awesome. It was APC, Primus and Puscifer. They are coming back my way in April (a couple of hours away), and I'm tempted to go again. Les Claypool is so awesome.

There was a festival earlier this year featuring local musical groups. I particularly liked one of them- Wild Adriatic. They've been around for more than a decade, but I hadn't been aware of them.

Their website says they're disbanding. They were unable to make some of their scheduled shows, so they will no longer be performing as a group, although they'll remain friends. :sigh::pout:Oh well, I prefer classical music anyway...

I saw Yes with my friend Stacey last week. Steve Howe is the only remaining (sort of) original member. At 78, he kicked butt on the guitar. It was awesome to see him after so many years. I think I had last seen Yes in the early aughts. The singer they had did a decent job. He had the right range and tone, but he did not have the power that Jon Anderson possessed. Still, he did a pretty good job.

My next concert is a jam band called Eggy. I'm going with my nephew and niece on the day before (U.S.) Thanksgiving. Then I have Creed for the Creedmas show with my sister on Dec. 30 and Adam Ezra Group with my mom on New Year's Eve. :) And I just bought tickets today for NIN in February. I also have Opeth with Katatonia in February as well.

I'm pretty broke but I do go to see a lot of bands for free. At festivals and summer concert.

Last week I saw these guys for free. they are playing again near me at a theater but it will cost $20. I think they might be worth it.

Free is great! I'm a concert addict, lol. I used to go to even more when I was working full time. I do pick and choose, and I try to never miss an opportunity to go with family. I figure if the young'uns still want to hang with Auntie, I'm not going to say no. :D

I get the feeling that you're all younger than I am.
:)

With one exception (Jason Isbell), I don't see people under 70!

In 2025:
Bruce Springsteen (x3)
Graham Nash
Elvis Costello
The Who
Bob Dylan
Willie Nelson
Ringo Starr
Neil Young
Jason Isbell

Still to come in 2025:
John Fogerty
Paul McCartney

@Ahimsa24/7 I saw Willie Nelson back in the 1980s, with members of a square dancing club I belonged to. I saw Paul McCartney in the 2000s (I think?- I remember it was in Yankee Stadium- I still have the ticket stub- I usually save those. I also printed out a review of McCartney's concert, along with some of my own notes. Two of my first-ever concerts (back in the 1960s!) were: Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass; and Oliver with The Friends Of Distinction. The Cowsills were a guilty pleasure of mine.

But classical music is my favorite kind.

The last concert I went to was U2 which was in Montpellier in the south of France back in 1987 or perhaps 88…

Prior to that

I went to a couple of the “Day on the Green” concerts at the Oakland Coliseum in the 70’s - I wonder if Lou went to any of those events? There were some good bands at those…

Van Morrison at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco

Boz Scaggs

Clearance Clemmons at a small venue

Tom Petty

Cat Stevens 2 or 3 times

Gordon Lightfoot, who I have seen More times than I could possibly remember… I have almost All of his albums in record form… I fell in love with his music as soon as I heard “If You Could Read My Mind” when I was just 12 or 13 years old…

I haven't been to a "big name" concert in decades! I saw Sly and the Family Stone, Jethro Tull, The Grateful Dead, Alice Cooper, and Kiss. Tickets for concerts are way too expensive now. There is a lot of local talent though and DeLand has two big music festivals a year though I haven't been to either in a few years. I did see a local singer/guitarist a few times a few years ago because my friend Sherri knew him. During the pandemic, he would do video shows. He isn't active any more as he got married and had a family. Sometimes there are musicians playing at pubs we go to. That is the extent of my "concert" going these days!
